Mahanagh holds a 28.5m earthen ring where reeds still mark the outside and a long hollow cuts the grass like a forgotten throat. The 1835 map called it a fort in gothic lettering, but local memory may have seen fairy work rather than human defense. People could have lived, hidden or played inside that shallow circle before ploughing and time smoothed its edges.

Located in an undulating low-lying landscape. This is depicted as a circular embanked enclosure on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a 'fort'. This is a grass-covered subcircular area (diam. 28.5m NW-SE) defined by a low earthen bank (Wth 2m; H 0.2m) with some bushes NE-E, which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.35m) elsewhere, with an outer band of reeds (Wth 10m). The perimeter has been levelled at S and the spoil added to the interior at N. The interior also contains a long hollow (L 7m; Wth 1.8m; D 0.2m) which may be a collapsed Man-made underground passage although no stones are visible.
