No visible trace survives today, but local memory holds that a ringfort and hidden underground passage once lay beneath the trees on the south-facing slope. The fort may have been a small defensive home, a trading post, or a boundary marker for a family that controlled movement through the valley. Its disappearance under bulldozers and lost planting does not erase the shape of the place, which still carries the weight of human choice and forgetting.

On the S-facing slope of a hillock. Marked on the 1920 edition of the OS 6-inch map as an irregular enclosed mixed tree plantation (c. 65m; E-W; c. 44m N-S). However, according to local information there was formerly a ringfort and Man-made underground passage (GA125-115001-) located here. A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Loughpark, likely dating to the early medieval period, is situated on the south-facing slope of a hillock. Local tradition suggests it was once a prominent rath, though now largely obscured, with folklore often associating such sites with supernatural or fairy activity in Irish tradition.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
