What is recorded here

An earthen ringfort stands in Loughaunnaweelaun, County Clare, its boundary marked only by a shallow ditch and a low bank of red soil. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the land around it felt occupied even when empty. A human hand may have shaped the circle for defense or worship, but the name suggests the place still resists ordinary explanation.
