Fairy fort in Loughane East, County Cork: a 34.5m earthen ring, 2.1m high, with shallow outside ditch and western entrance, still standing in pasture. People may have lived there, marked ownership, kept animals or simply shaped the land when strength and seasons allowed. The fairies, according to local story, took the fort afterward and made it their own.
