What is recorded here

That is a fairy fort, a subrectangular earthen ringfort on a grassy hillock in Lissanard East. It measured roughly 49 metres by 41 metres when surveyed in the early 1900s, but field boundaries later cut through its enclosing bank. By 1983 no visible trace remained except a slight curve in a northern field bank, leaving behind a quiet ghost of a place people once shaped and forgot.

On a hillock in grassland. Marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure; on the OS 1:2500 plan (surveyed 1912-16) it is more subrectangular in plan (c. 49m NW-SE; c. 41m N-S) and field boundaries overlie the enclosing element from NW through E to SW. On inspection in September 1983 no visible surface trace survived but a slight curve in a field bank to the N may have mirrored its outline.
