A circular fort forty-five metres across, with a deep ditch and a second outer wall now hidden by trees, stands in wet boggy ground at Lissacholly. People may have lived there, farmed around it, or feared what the dark earth swallowed. The name Fairy fort suggests they saw more than stones and soil.

Internal diam. 45m. A circular area enclosed by a substantial earthen bank, a fosse and a smaller outer bank and fosse. There are indications of an additional bank outside the outer fosse. The banks are badly overgrown with trees and bushes and the outer bank and fosse are virtually obliterated except on the W side. The interior of the fort is slightly raised above the level of the surrounding fields. It is situated in wet boggy land.
