What is recorded here

Thirty-three metres of packed earth still mark the circle in Lisnascreena, though field boundaries now cut across the rath like knives through a living body. The northern half has surrendered to bramble and shadow while the southern half remains exposed under the Galway sky, suggesting the site itself may be splitting into two different memories. Cars and rubbish once lay at its NE edge, treating ancient ground as a bin, but the scarp endures because human arrogance forgets while soil remembers.

On a gentle SE-facing slope in pastureland. This circular rath (D 33m) is defined by a scarp (H 0.6-1.3m). A number of field boundaries cut across the monument, one running ENE-WSW roughly divides it. Two other field boundaries extend off this one and run NE-SW, almost parallel to each other, and cut across the scarp at N and NNE. The area to the N of the dividing wall is heavily overgrown with trees and bramble, while the area to the S of it is clear of overgrowth. A levelled bank is visible in the in the W sector of this half. Some old cars and rubbish had been dumped outside the scarp at NE.
