What is recorded here

Lisnagoneeny is one of three ringforts in a line, but ploughing has erased the middle one. The other two still stand, which means the lost fort was not imaginary. It was a home, a boundary, a workplace, or a trap. Someone lived inside that circle before the soil forgot the shape.

Marked on the 1841-42 and 1915-16 OS maps as a circular enclosure, this univallate ringfort is the middle fort in a line of three, the others being the next two ringforts below. A slight trace of it can be seen on the Geological Survey of Ireland's aerial photographs (1977); however, it has been levelled and no surface trace survives. The above description is derived from C.
