Mortons and others still call it a fairy fort, but the oval measure and broken bank suggest a human home. The causeway at the southeast edge invites entry while the fading ditch warns that the ground has forgotten much of its own shape. People may have lived inside, died inside, or stopped coming when the bank became a border for stories instead of a wall for a household.

Raised oval area (int. dims. 31.5m E-W; 27.4m N-S) enclosed by a low earthen bank and a fosse, traces of which are identifiable only from ESE-S-WSW. Break in bank with accompanying causeway at ESE probably represents original entrance.
