Thirty-six metres of stubborn earth still stand on the Lismacfinnin ridge, blocking cattle and human memory alike. Briars and gorse strangle the bank while goats and men break through at NW, NE and SW, proving the fort never truly submitted. It faces south toward Magillycuddy's Reeks and north across open country, as if set to watch both worlds at once. A second rath waits one hundred twenty metres west, suggesting this was no lonely pride but a small neighbourhood of buried lives.

In pasture, on an E-W ridge with views S over the valley of the Laune River to Magillycuddy's Reeks and N over an undulating countryside. A circular raised area (36m N-S; 35m E-W) is enclosed an earthen bank (Wth 7.4m; int. H 1.4m; ext. H 3m) largely overgrown by briars and gorse, and by an external fosse (Wth 3m; D 0.4m) NW-SE and by intermittent traces of the fosse SE-SW. The enclosing bank is best preserved NE-SE and is lowest along the N arc. There are cattle breaks in the bank at NW, NE and SW. There is a causewayed entrance (Wth 3m) at SE. The interior, slightly uneven, is in pasture and is partially obscured by gorse and briars along the inner side of the enclosing bank. Field boundaries abut the rath at W and SW.
