Fairy fort in Lisheenacrehig, County Cork: earthen ringfort, 28 by 26 metres, bank up to 4 metres high, southern gap 5.2 metres wide, interior sloping west. People may have lived there before becoming legend; the fairies inherited it later. The distinction hardly matters when the shape still holds.

In pasture, on W-facing slope. Circular area (28m N-S; 26m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (max. ext. H 4m); external fosse (D 0.6m) SE->SSW. Break in bank to S (Wth 5.2m). Interior slopes down to the W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
