Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lisduff (carbury By.) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Lisduff (carbury By.), County Sligo, Ireland. It occupies the west end of a level summit on a high narrow ridge in pasture. A low broad earth bank encloses a raised circular area, while a fosse runs along the external foot of the bank. Natural ground slopes down steeply outside the fosse, and a break with a causeway at the north east marks the original entrance.
Situated at W end of level summit of a high narrow ridge in pasture. Raised circular area (diam. 28m) enclosed by a low broad bank of earth (Wth 3m; int. H 0.4m). At the external foot of the bank is a fosse (Wth 4.6m; D 0.3m). Natural ground level slopes down steeply 6-8m outside the outer edge of the fosse SW-NNE. A break (Wth 3.7m) in the bank with a causeway across the fosse at NNE marks the position of the original entrance. There is a modern break (Wth 1m) in the bank at SW. Compiled by: Patrick F.
