Fairy forts in Liscarroll are not fantasy but abandoned human settlements misnamed after being forgotten. This earthen ring sits on an SSE-facing slope in County Cork, measured at roughly thirty-eight metres across, with a surviving bank standing one point four metres high before grass and time smoothed the rest. People built the interior higher on the south side to resist the hillslope, proving the site was shaped for deliberate use rather than random decay. The fairies entered later only because the humans vanished from memory.

In pasture, on SSE-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Subcircular area (38m E-W; 31.5m N-S) defined by earthen bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1.4m) SE->WSW; bank levelled elsewhere, visible as band (Wth 2m) of dark green grass with numerous stones on its surface. Remains of stone facing noted on surviving bank.
