What is recorded here

Modern trenches have cut through the ancient earthen bank, yet a raised circular area still holds its shape in Lisboduff. The lost entrance and broken boundary suggest a place where human hands and later machines both claimed the same ground. It remains a quiet ring of soil, waiting for someone to walk its edge and imagine the life that vanished beneath the scars.

Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 37m) enclosed by a low earthen bank and a shallow fosse identifiable from W-NW-N and largely replaced by modern trenches elsewhere. Original entrance not recognisable. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
