What is recorded here
Fairy fort, County Longford, Ireland. A circular earthwork, 31 metres across, sits on a rise among conifers. Its low bank of soil and stone has worn thin, and the outer ditch has vanished. The entrance has disappeared entirely, leaving a complete ring with no visible gap.
On a rise within a plantation of coniferous trees. A raised circular area (diam. 31m) enclosed by a low much-degraded bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.4-5.5m; H 0.55-0.7m). A report in 1976 (SMR file) recorded an external fosse which has since been infilled. The original entrance is not recognisable.
