What is recorded here

Half a circle of earth, thirty metres across, still bends through the wet pasture beside the Tralia River. The bank is barely twenty centimetres high on the outside, yet wide enough to have kept out rain, cattle and forgetting. People may have lived inside the missing western curve, or the fairies may have taken that half when the fort became theirs. Either way, the eastern arc survived to mark the edge of the takeover.

In wet pasture, on a NE-facing slope, on the E side of a tributary of the Tralia River. A semicircular arc (C 30m) of a low bank (Wth 4.8m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 0.2m) is evident NNW-S and may be the remains of the E half of a rath. On the 1894 OS 6-inch map the arc of bank is indicated NNW-SSW.
