Leamlara once held a moderate fairy fort on a south-facing slope, overlooking a stream valley. Ploughing scattered its stones across the pasture, erasing the ring but leaving behind a strange density of rock in the soil. The earth remembers the shape even when the surface forgets it.

In pasture, on a S-facing slope, overlooking a stream valley to S. According to local information, a 'fort' once existed at this location and although regular ploughing had scattered the stones, in the past there was a greater concentration of stones in this area. This is probably the 'lios of moderate size, now levelled' recorded by Power (1917, 21) in this townland. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
