Leaheen holds a true ringfort, yet local minds still call it a fairy fort because the boundary between human history and fantasy collapses there. Earth and stone may have served people long ago, but the name suggests the place still belongs to something else.

A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Leaheen, Rahanka, is a circular earthwork enclosure typical of early-medieval Ireland, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries AD. Local tradition associates such sites with the faé or supernatural beings, and they were often avoided due to beliefs in their magical or dangerous nature.
