What is recorded here
Fairy fort in Kyleballynamoe: a massive earthen bank and wide fosse still enclose a sub-rectangular space on a slight hillock above the Nuenna valley. The earthwork is broad enough to carry a person or a cart along its crest, yet thin in places where time and traffic have worn it away. It stands among grass and tillage, with the valley stretching out beyond, making the old boundary feel both forgotten and deliberately drawn.
On a slight hillock on the S side of the Nuenna river valley, at its junction with the valley floor, surrounded by grass and tillage. There are fair views along and across the valley. A sub-rectangular area (int. dims. 44m N-W; 37m E-W) enclosed by a massive bank (overall Wth 10m; Wth at crest 2m; int. H c. 1.5m; ext. H 2.3m) and a wide, flat-bottomed external fosse (Wth 4m; D 1.3m) on S and W. The bank and fosse only survive as traces at E and as scarp at N. There is a modern tractor ramp for access to the interior on the N side.
