Knockrour holds a vanished double rampart where local memory still claims an underground passage. That is a fairy fort in the practical sense: human hands built it, and the strange part is what the building did for the people who relied on it. The ground has been levelled into a slight rise in pasture, but the shape remains large enough to enter, circle and remember.

In pasture. Levelled; slight rise in area of site. Hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) depicted on 1842, 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps. Hartnett (1939, 67) records 'double rampart and intervening fosse' with outer rampart levelled into fosse, except to W; entrance to E; local tradition of Man-made underground passage (CO060-174----).
