Knockrour holds a thirty-four metre circular fort with two earthen banks and a central passage beside a working farmyard. The southeast buildings invade the interior, blending ancient defence and modern life into one crowded space. The off-centre well and hidden passage suggest people still trusted the ground to keep secrets, even when walls and roads changed around them.

Adjacent to farmyard. Circular area (diam. 34m) enclosed by two earthen banks with intervening fosse. Inner bank (int. H 1.4m) and outer bank (H 1.5m) stone-faced in parts. Farmyard buildings extend into interior from SE. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO060-193----) in interior; well off-centre in S half.
