Fairy forts are never empty; they wait for humans to leave, then continue occupying the same stone. Knockroe West still holds an earthern ring on a south-facing slope, its west and north bank standing one metre high beside a shallow outer ditch. A farmyard now crosses the east half, suggesting people lived there before transforming the shape into ordinary working land. The fairies may have simply taken back the part humans stopped using.

In pasture, on break in S-facing slope. Arc formed by earthen bank (H 1m) survives W->N; external fosse (D 1.5m) W->NW. Farmyard extends across E half of enclosure.
