What is recorded here

Knockreagh held a circular earthen fort on gently sloping pastureland, visible enough for surveyors to draw in 1841 but reduced to a faint shadow in 1974 and erased entirely today. The loss is not empty; it is a reminder that soil forgesgets, forges and forges again. What the earth kept, it has returned to itself.

Lissapheepera. This circular enclosure is marked on the 1841-42 OS map. It lies on gently S sloping pastureland NE of KE016-053----. On the 1914-15 OS map only the N through E to S section is marked. However, it does show up as a slight crop mark on the Geological Survey of Ireland's aerial photographs (1974). No surface trace survives today. The above description is derived from C.
