What is recorded here

Knocknagappul is an earthen ringfort where a standing stone still rises inside the north bank, marking the circle as a place of recognition rather than ordinary pasture. The conjoined fort to the south and the blocked western gap suggest two households or two purposes sharing one ridge, perhaps human and perhaps not. People may have moved through the northern causeway at dawn, reading the slope and stone before deciding whether the place wanted a visitor or a witness.

In pasture, on NW-facing slope. Roughly circular area (27m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.3m) to W, N and E; to S by N bank of conjoined ringfort (CO143-035003-). Gap to SW blocked by stone wall. To N and NW bank partly modifed and stone faced; original line visible as berm to outside. External fosse (max. D 1.4m) SW->ESE; causeway (Wth 5m) to N. Standing stone (CO143-035002-) inside N bank.
