What is recorded here

Knocknacaska held a circular earthen fort inside the Fort Field, visible on maps from 1841 to 1898 before a new fieldbank cut through its western edge. The earth has since vanished entirely, leaving behind only a name and the memory of a boundary that once shaped the local landscape.

This circular enclosure is situated in what is known locally as the Fort Field. It is marked on the 1841-42 and 1898 OS maps. However, on the later edition the W sector has been cut by a fieldbank running N-S. No visible trace of this site survives today. The above description is derived from C.
