Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Knockmoyle East

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Knockmoyle East holds a forgotten ringfort where human hands shaped a forty-metre circle before scrubland swallowed the stone. The earth forgot the name and the people, but the slope still carries the shape of their labour. What is missing is not emptiness; it is a life that stopped being repeated.
On the SE-facing slope of a hillock in scrubland. Marked on the OS 6-inch maps as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m). Apart from a colour change in vegetation, which indicates the location of this monument, no visible surface trace survives.
