Knockatarry holds a thirty-metre stone ring above wet Longford pasture, preserving a forgotten doorway to human ambition. The earth bank still stands though the entrance has vanished, suggesting the site resisted final closure even as memory faded. People may have lived inside that circle before the land became pasture, but the stones no longer speak their names.

At the highest point of a low NW-SE ridge in low-lying, wet pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 31.8m) enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 4.8m; H 0.1-0.5m) with an external fosse (Wth 3.5m; D 0.3m). Fragmentary traces of drystone-walling are evident on both faces of the bank. The fosse is identifiable only from ESE-SE-SSE. The original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F.
