What is recorded here

Knockane holds a vanished ringfort beside a hunting kitchen, buried beneath marsh and forgetting. The circle may have measured twenty metres or one hundred feet, depending on whether you trust the drawing or Hartnett’s boot in 1939. Either way, people made a round place in wet ground, lived or played there, then left it to the water. The field boundary still cuts across the forgotten room, proving the earth remembers shape even when pride stops naming it.

In marshy ground. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) bisected by NNW-SSE field boundary. According to Hartnett (1939, 235) 'levelled but a raised circular platform, about 100 feet in diameter can still be traced'. No visible surface trace.
