What is recorded here
Knockane held a forty-metre earthen ring before a farmyard swallowed it. The earth may have blocked storms, excluded thieves or simply marked the boundary of a household that no longer remembers its own name. Under the modern stones and compacted soil, the circle still waits for someone to stop treating the ground as dead.
Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) on 1924 OS 6-inch map, is no longer evident in area now occupied by farmyard.
