What is recorded here

Knockacarrigeen holds a subcircular rath forty metres long on a steep SE-facing slope, its earth bank fading into grass while a sharper scarp marks the remaining edge. The fort sits close to another enclosure and a second ringfort, suggesting a crowded landscape where people lived, argued, hid or worshipped before the green took the place back. It is not a polished monument but a bruised line in the hill, still drawing the eye because the hand that made it understood sight, defence and belonging.

On a pronounced SE-facing slope in grassland. Poorly preserved overgrown subcircular rath (N-S c. 40m, E-W c. 30m) defined by a bank from N through E to W, and elsewhere by a scarp. An enclosure (GA043-105002-) lies immediately to S and a ringfort (GA043-104----) c. 120m to SSE.
