Knockacarrigeen held a thirty-metre earthen ring before soil and forgetting removed it. A field wall later cut through the circle, treating the old boundary as an obstacle rather than a warning. The fort disappeared into ordinary farmland, yet its shape still lives in the memory of the land. What the earth kept hidden, the wall admitted by breaking it open.

In undulating farmland. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1931) a circular enclosure (D c. 30m) cut by a field wall at NW and SE. No visible surface trace survives.
