What is recorded here

Fairy forts are not fairy forts at all. They are ordinary ringforts, human-made and often old, whose true history has been forgotten or never written. The fairy name comes later. It appears when people stop understanding the place, or when the place resists being explained. What seems magical may simply be memory loss.
