What is recorded here
Derrycrossaun Castle stands as a vanished shadow in Lack West, County Clare, its stones forgotten though its name remains. It may have been a small fortress for a local family, a place of heat and argument and temporary safety. The land has taken back the building, leaving only a suggestion of walls and a chamber where human life once turned. What is missing is not a failure of knowledge but a reminder that most castles disappeared without ceremony.
