Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Kiltenan North

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Kiltenan North holds a broken ring where a sharp scarped edge meets a straight earth-and-stone bank beside the stream. The remaining ditch and bank mark the east, while the west has been cut back into the low pasture. It is not a grand fortress but a small, damaged enclosure, the kind of place where ordinary life may have been lived and then forgotten under grass.
In low-lying pasture, on E bank of stream. Roughly circular area (20.5m N-S; 17m E-W) defined by scarped edge NW->WSW and bounded by straight (H 0.5m) earth-and-stone bank bordering stream WSW->NW. Scarp (H 0.3m; Wth 2m) dips at SW for c. 3m. From ENE->ESE scarp grades to earthen bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.45m) with external fosse (D 0.2m; Wth 1.2m); this may be part of original enclosing element before remainder graded to scarped edge. Level interior is under pasture.
