Kilnaknappoge holds a circular earthen fort twenty-seven metres across, marked by a low bank and a silted ditch on a north-west facing slope. Later hands topped the earth with stone, while cultivation ridges still cut across the interior. The site has stood in pasture long enough to become a fairy fort in local thought, blending human labour and imaginary residence into one quiet shape.

In pasture, on NNW-facing slope. Circular area (27.7m N-S; 26.8m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 0.9m); silted-up external fosse to W. Bank topped by later stone wall.
