Clearing stones from sloping fields and stacking them into a round wall is not the same as building a chamber for the fairies, yet people still called it a fairy fort. Kilnaknappoge keeps that boundary blurred: a human-made ring on a NNW-facing slope, misread or embellished until the ordinary became mysterious.

In pasture, on NNW-facing slope. Roughly circular area (23m N-S; 27m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.45m). Field clearance material dumped on bank ENE->SSW; stone-faced externally in parts; N bank stepped due to slippage. Interior raised on N side to compensate for hillslope.
