Fairy fort in Killygragy, County Monaghan: a circular earthen ring about 38m across, just east of a drumlin summit, with a broken outer bank and eastern entrance. People may have lived, herded or hidden there before the fields closed around it; the fairies, according to local story, took the rest.

Situated just E of a summit on an E-W drumlin ridge. This is a circular overgrown area (diam. 38m E-W; 37.5m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth c. 5m; int. H c. 0.3m generally to c. 1.2m at E; ext. H c. 3-3.5m) separated by a fosse (Wth of base c. 2.5m; D c. 0.7-1.2m) from an outer earthen bank that only survives NNW-E and is incorporated into a field bank SSW-N. An E-W depression (Wth 2.1m; D 0.4m), probably a drain crosses the interior. The entrance (Wth of base 3m) is at E.
