Fairy fort in Killeen, County Leitrim: an oval grass and rush-covered area, 54m N-S and about 40m E-W, bounded by low scarps that fade into the hillslope. The 1835 map drew it as a small circular fort, but the ground has widened into a shallow bowl where rain collects and rushes tremble. People may have stood at its edge, watched the water come and go, or kept something hidden there before forgetting the shape of their own making.

Situated at the W end of a low E-W ridge in a low-lying landscape. It is depicted as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 25m) only on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a 'fort'. This is an oval grass and rush-covered area (dims 54m N-S; c. 40m E-W) defined by scarps (max. H 0.8m) SSE-SSW and NW-N which fade out into the hillslope elsewhere.
