What is recorded here

Situated on a slight break in the steep NE-facing slope of Cooneen Hill overlooking a precipice. A roughly circular area (diam. 33m N-S) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 6m; int. H 2.8m; ext. H 0.6m) which is reduced to a scarp downslope to the NE. The site is built into the hill. The interior slopes to the NE although it levels out towards the NE edge. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
