What is recorded here

Kilfinny is called the fairy fort because the circular embankment vanished before human memory, leaving only a smooth pasture slope where a forty-metre ring once stood. The 1841 survey still drew its line, but boots and ploughs erased the earth that made the boundary visible. What was lost may have been a farmyard, a temple or a child's marble arena; the ground no longer answers.
