Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Kildurney,lysterfield is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Kildurney,lysterfield, County Roscommon, Ireland. The D-shaped enclosure sits on a gentle NE-facing slope overlooking Lough Funshinagh, a large turlough, c. 300m to the N and E. A local tradition claims it was a children's burial ground, but no evidence supports that use.

Marked only on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a D-shaped enclosure, and situated on a gentle NE-facing slope overlooking Lough Funshinagh, a large turlough, c. 300m to the N and E. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims. c. 25m N-S; c. 25m E-W) defined by a flat-topped earth and stone bank (Wth 3.2m; int. H 0.35m; ext. H 1.25m) W-NW which is reduced to a scarp (H c. 1m) NW-NNE. The site is truncated by a N-S field bank and townland boundary with Kildurney at E and an E-W field bank at S. There is a local tradition of, but no evidence of, its use as a childrens' burial ground (RO045-134002-) (Gannon 1972). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
