Kilcolman is a circular earthen rath with a 28m internal diameter, three entrance gaps, and an unbroken view across gently sloping Kerry land. Its bank stands about 2m high outside and 1.6m inside, shaping a small enclosed world rather than a grand castle. People may have lived, hidden, gathered or marked territory there, while later fairy-fort stories gave the same stones a different master.

Internal diameter 28m This circular univallate rath is situated on gently sloping land, and the view from the site is extensive in all directions. The enclosing earthen bank is a maximum of 2m high externally and 1.6m high internally. Access to the interior is gained by three gaps in the N, S and E sector, measuring 3m, 3m and 4m respectively.
