What is recorded here

Kealmanagh held a twenty-nine-metre earthen ringfort before ploughs and time erased its visible edge. The land still gives it back only when dry sun strikes the crop, revealing the ghost of a bank no longer there to touch. An underground passage remains inside the vanished circle, waiting for someone brave enough to crawl into the dark the fort refused to leave behind.

Recorded by Bowman (1934, 290) as levelled single-ramparted fort (diam. c. 29m) on M. O'Keeffe's land. Now no visible surface trace of site. Circular enclosure visible as cropmark of bank in aerial photograph (GSIAP, W394). Man-made underground passage (CO039-23202-) in interior.
