What is recorded here
Fairy fort in Greenmount, County Limerick: an earthen ringfort on an east-facing pasture slope, about two hundred metres west of a new house. The bank and sub-oval ground are no longer visible, though the 1924 map still traced them. That disappearance is not a mistake; it is the land taking back what people shaped. Walk the pasture at dusk and imagine the bank returning under your feet, tall enough to touch.
Situated on an E-facing slope in gently rolling pasture, c. 200m W of a newly-built house. The monument has been levelled. Indicated on the 1924 OS 6-inch map as a sub-oval area (c. 25m E-W; 30m N-S) enclosed by a bank.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
