Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Greenane (bear By.) stands on a south-facing slope above Bantry Bay, its thirty-metre circle marked by a scarp and a closed underground passage. Locals call it the lios, suggesting humans once shaped the earth before forgetting the purpose. The missing west arc and hidden tunnel imply a place made for passage, observation, or exclusion rather than ordinary domestic life.

In pasture, on a level break on a S-facing slope with views S over Bantry Bay and the Sheep's Head Peninsula. A roughly circular area (diam. 30m N-S) is defined by a scarp (H 1-1.6m) NW-SW. A field boundary and stream truncate the W arc. It is known locally as 'the lios'. According to local information, a Man-made underground passage (CO128-033002-), long since closed up, exists within the rath.
