Knockeenadara in County Cork once held a circular earthen fort beside the road, but the widening of the Cork-Dublin route levelled the last visible trace. The loss is a modern wound, not a mysterious disappearance.

On roadway, on W-facing slope of Knockeenadara. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map, with lime kiln on SW bank; as hachured circular raised area (diam. c. 40m) on 1905 and 1935 OS 6-inch maps, truncated by road to W; scarp replaced by field fence to E on 1935 OS 6-inch map.
