Gortnacrusha South held a forty-two-metre earthen ring on a sunny slope until local people levelled it around 1979. The land still breaks into a shallow circle, preserving the shape of a home or refuge that no longer has a name.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. According to local tradition, site of ringfort; levelled c. 1979. Curve (W->NNE) in field fence system depicted on 1902 OS 6-inch map. Slightly raised circular area (diam. c. 42m N-S) survives. Circular enclosure (CO124-065----) from aerial photograph immediately to SW. Inadvertently included in the Archaeological Inventory of Co.
