Fairy fort in Gortnaclohy, County Cork: a circular earthen ringfort on a hill crest, 25 metres across, with a 1.8m bank, shallow outer ditch, and two gaps, one perhaps a causeway. It stands in pasture still, shaping the sky line and inviting curiosity about who lived there, when, and why they marked the land so plainly. Local tradition may call it a fairy fort, but the earthwork itself is human, deliberate, and old enough to belong to several forgotten generations.

In pasture, on crest of hill. Circular raised area (25.2m N-S; 25.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.8m), with shallow external fosse (D 0.2m). Break in bank to ENE (Wth 0.8m), with possible causeway; second gap to WNW (Wth 2m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
