Half a circle of packed earth and a steep cut scar hold the slope of The Paps of Dana, shaping a room large enough for a household but never quite complete. The causeway gap faces east, inviting entry toward the hill rather than blocking it, while the raised northwest floor and cut southeast floor balance the tilt of the ground. People may have lived there, herded there, or simply marked the edge of a field; the bank still stands in pasture, waiting for someone to remember which.

In pasture, on the lower NW-facing slopes of The Paps of Dana. A roughly semicircular area (dim. c. 34m SE-NW) is defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.5m; int. H 1m; ext. H 0.6m) NE-W and by a linear scarp (L 33m; Wth 3.6m; H 1.75m) at NW. There is a possible causeway entrance (Wth 2.9m) at ENE. The NW portion of the interior is raised and the SE portion is cut into the upslope to compensate for the hillslope. A stone field boundary skirts the external edge of the bank at NE. An indistinct overgrown field boundary skirts the rath externally along the SW arc. The rath is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on the 1846 and 1894-5 OS 6-inch maps.
