Fairy fort in Gortaneadin, County Cork: a 30-metre earthen ring on a northwest-facing slope, its stone bank still standing part-way around a level grazing field. People may have lived there before livestock came, but the shape has outlasted every name and claim. It is the kind of place that remembers being human long after people stop remembering it.

In pasture, on NW-facing slope. Circular area (30m E-W; 28m N-S) raised above surrounding ground level. Bank of stone (H 0.6m) survives atop stone-faced scarp (H 2.4m) S->NNE. Bank removed NNE->S, visible as slight rise. Interior level and open for grazing. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
